Shot at a doe @ opener on Monday of the gun season. She ran back the way she had come and I didn't see her go down. Before I got down out of the tree another deer appeared on the trail where she had run. It stopped in a brushy area so I waited to see what the deer was going to do. There were people and machinery activity going on behind me in the field and I didn't think I was going to get a chance to fire @ what turned out to be a small buck. I saw the deer standing in the same spot and he was moving his head up and down like he was smelling something. Turned out he found the doe I had shot earlier and was trying to get her up off the ground in a less than gentlemanly manner. I watched him gore her for about 15 minutes and didn't think he was being very respectful of her so I decided if was to walk my way he was going to get his and that was going to be his last date. He was a 7 pointer with a 8" spread. Yum Yum |
